Some Very Interesting Stuff

The Daily Southtown's Joe Cowley reports Chicago White Sox general manager Kenny Williams would put together almost any package to acquire Houston Astros SP Roger Clemens. They will make a strong push to acquire him.

Where in the world did this come from? I want to hear what you all think about this? Who do you think would be dealt? This is some good stuff!

It's Been A While

Hey everyone! Sorry about not posting for a while but it has been a busy summer over here. But from now on I am going to do my best to keep posting as much as possible. So let's get to it!

It has been 20 games since my last post on June 7 and the Sox have gone 14-6 since then. Not bad at all. They still have a nice hold of the best record in baseball and continue to increase the gap between them and the rest of the AL Central. Going into tonight's game they hold a nine game lead over the Twins. A very nice cushion in deed.

Freddy Garcia has been absolutely on fire in the month of June. He went 3-0 with a 2.84 ERA. He also struck out 30 batters while only walking nine in 38 innings of work. He has just been nasty. It seems that he has that killer instinct everytime he steps on that mound.

Who Deserves To Play?

Since Big Frank's return on May 30th, Ozzie has been in a tough position trying to decide who will be his DH. Is it Frank or Carl Everett? Carl was hitting the ball great when Frank came back but at the same time you want Thomas in that line up to intimidate opposing pitchers. So who gets the nod to start?

Since May 30....

20 games, 12 for 55, .218 AVG, 8 HR, 13 RBI

18 games, 24 for 69, .347 AVG, 6 HR, 19 RBI

Carl definitely holds the advantage for being able to play the OF and DH when Frank is limited to only being the DH. But Thomas is a Hall of Famer and when he is 100% healthy, he can do great things. But we all know that he is not at 100% yet. I enjoy watching both of these guys play the game of baseball and it is tough to see that on some nights one of them has to sit.

Frank Thomas as been my favorite player since his rookie year in 1991 and hearing all these rumors that he will not be back next year is very sad. The Big Hurt is one of the best hitters to ever play this game and to just let him go like that would be a disgrace to the big guy. Carlton Fisk, Jack McDowell, and Robin Ventura are a few names of players that were just forgotten about by this organization and it would be a shame to see Big Frank's name added to that list of players that played for this great White Sox organization.
