My predictions for the 2005 MLB season

AL EAST

The Yankees are just too powerful. They
have to best line up in baseball and a solid rotation led by the Big Unit.
Oh, and they possibly have one of the best bullpens too.

AL CENTRAL

The new look Sox will do some great things this year.
Their speed is going to kill teams. They still have the power to hit the
ball out of the park as well. Doesn't hurt playing at U.S. Cell
either. It has turned into the Coors Field of the AL. The most
improved part of this team is the bullpen. Their bullpen will carry them a
long way this year.

AL WEST

The Angels have a very scary team. Their lineup, starting
rotation, and bullpen are all very solid. The only team that I could see challenging
them for the division are the Rangers, but they don't have the pitching to keep
up with them.

AL WILD CARD

The Red Sox still have the fire power to make the playoffs. Their lineup is
just as good as the Yankees and Angels. The bullpen is solid and will help
them win many games. The starting rotation is on the shoulders of Curt
Schilling. Even without Pedro the rotation is still good with newcomers
David Wells, Wade Miller, and Matt Clement.

NL EAST

There is no way you can bet against Bobby Cox and the
Braves. Every year they somehow find a way to win. Trading for Tim
Hudson doesn't hurt either. John Smoltz will be brilliant as a starter and
the bullpen is good too.

NL CENTRAL

The Cardinals lineup is what carries this team. Walker,
Pujols, Rolen, and Edmonds are a scary group to face. Adding Mark Mulder
to the rotation improves the weak rotation from last year.

NL WEST

With or without Barry Bonds, this is a veteran team that will
get the job done. The oldest team in the league will have to rely on their
health to win this division. They are just too good of a team not to win
it.

NL WILDCARD

Adding Carlos Delgado to this already potent lineup makes them a scary
team. They have speed and power to go along with a good rotation.
The bullpen is very under rated and can close out games with the best of them.

WORLD SERIES

over

A rematch of the 2003 World Series will feature a more powerful Yankees team
against a very underrated Marlins team. This time the Yankees will win but
the Marlins will give them a good fight.

I would like to know what you all think. Post some comments. Sorry Joe, no Cubs this year either.
