Quentin Leads Comeback

Carlos Quentin led the way for the Sox on Wednesday afternoon. His three run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning (his second HR of the game) finished off a five run inning to give the Sox a 10-8 victory of the Texas Rangers. The Sox finished their six game home stand with a 3-3 record.

Carlos Quentin has been unbelievable all year long. When the bats were struggling during the beginning of the year, he was carrying this team on his back the entire way. And he has not stopped. He now leads the American League with 26 HR and is second in RBI with 76.

Clayton Richard made his big league debut for the Sox today. He went four innings, giving up four earned runs, on seven hits, while striking out seven. He showed some very good stuff during his four innings of work today and should be a dependable arm in the very near future. He even works faster than Mark Buehrle.

If you were not able to see the game, I am sure you will see this replay. In the top of the seventh inning, Alexei Ramirez made the play of the year! A slow grounder towards first base, Ramirez charged the ball and flung it to first with his glove. It was unreal.

The real test now begins as the Sox go on a 10 game road trip. Three in Detroit, four in Minnesota and then three in Kansas City. This will be a very good opportunity for the Sox to increase their lead in the division. Hopefully the road woes will come to a halt very soon.
